How to Create an Amazing Typography Poster

In this tutorial we are going to create an amazing Typography Poster in photoshop.

Alright, we have everything we need for our poster so, let’s have a look at our final result, click on it to view it in full size.

Step 1:

Create a new file with 1920px Width and 1280px Height.

Step 2:

Now open the texture I’ve mentioned above and paste it on our file.

Step 3:

Open the model image and paste it on our file. And scale it down using Edit> Free Transform orCommand/Ctrl + T.

Step 4:

We need to make our image a bit darker. So for this click on Image> Adjustments> Brightness/Contrast.

Step 5:

Now simply select the Eraser Tool and remove the background of the model image. If you want you can use Pen Tool for more accurate result but as this will blend in the background so we work with that.

Step 6:

Now create a new layer, for this click on Layer> New> Layer and  then select “soft Round Brush” and use it on the lower corners with color # 000000.

Step 7:

Select the “Text Tool” and add different letteres randomly with color # 121212. Now angle them a bit using Edit> Free Transform.

Step 8:

Now change the blending mode of the text layer to “Overlay” and reduce the opacity to 40%.

Step 9:

Now next step can really save our time. So simply create a new file and fill it with # ffffff using thepaint bucket tool.

Step 10:

Now select the “Text Tool” and add whatever text you like with color # 000000.

Step 11:

Click on Edit> Define Brush Preset and name the brush and now we have a text brush.

Step 12:

Now go back to our main file and create a new layer. Then select the Text brush we have just create and use it randomly with colors # ffffff, # d7d7d7 and # a3a3a3. After that reduce the opacity of the layer to 60%.

Step 13:

Repeat the same process but change the angle of the brush and click on the scattering option.

Step 14:

Again select the Text brush and use it randomly with different colors.

Step 15:

Now select the “Line Tool” and create some lots of lines with upper left corner with 1px weight and # a3a3a3 color.

Step 16:

Create a new layer and select the heart swirl brushes from the brush set mentioned above with color # 959595.

Step 17:

Now we will add Drop shadow to our heart so click on Layer> Layer style> Drop Shadow.

Step 18:

Now change the blending mode of the above layer to “difference”.

Step 19:

Now select the Text Tool again and add different words like peace, world etc . Use different font for each word.

Step 20:

Add a sentence with color # e9e9e9 and right click on the text layer and Rasterize it. After that click on Edit>Transform>Warp.

Step 21:

Repeat the same process but this time use this # 363636 color.

Step 22:

Create a new layer and select the “Soft Round Brush” use it on the upper left corner with color # 623421. Now change blending mode of the layer to “Color”.

Step 23:

Now add the poster text and add can use the heart swirl there as well.

Step 24:

Now let’s brighten up the poster a bit, so click on Image> Adjustments> Brightness/Contrast.

And now our Typography Poster is done. Let’s have a look at our final result, click on the image to view in full size:
