Making of Revenge of the Bride

This image is created for the cover illustration of Exotique 6 Special Edition using Photoshop and Painter and thanks to CGArena for giving me the opportunity to share the tips and tricks on how to do a face painting. Hope my friends/renders will benefitted from this explanation.

Usually before doing the painting I draw with the pencil sketch to bring out the shape, draws up by the pencil line manuscript's way the modeling, then again draws skin's bottom color.

Then, in the order to face the dark side of the painted layer by layer, in the process of painting the dark side of the saturation will slowly decrease. This way, skin’s stereoscopic look will gradually come out.

This works because we want to draw more refined level of style, so to obliterate the face of the draft line, like this next picture will let us handle the details better.

Start drawing the details of the eye, draws pupil’s dark surface as well as the reflection in order

Details of the retina of the eye is drawn, and then spreads white the sclera as well as eye's luminescent spot, and finally draw the tears of eyes, so that some of the eyes look moist.


Draws the bright face and the dark eyebrows. Let’s the eyebrow look like has a faint trace sense of reality and the eyes detail has completed.

The next task will be blackened the nostrils, and then highlight the skin drawn, with such a skin will look more three-dimensional. In general the brightest highlights of the skin is mainly the nose and the cheeks, so pay attention to the other bright spots, which not come closer to other two bright parts.

Pink spreads the bottom color in lip's spot, draws up in order again lip's dark surface.

Then draws lip's corrugation in the dark surface, in order to increase the details of the lips.

Finally, paint with white highlights on the lips, the lips seems to fold a sense of light, and it seems like a lip gloss is painted. At this stage, the lips have been looks good in the picture.

At the edge of the face drawn a bright line, so that the face appears to have been the feeling of light exposure.

Then the cheek, eye socket and nose adjusted to reddish color, like this would seem to have color of the face.

Pores of the skin surface and the dark side is drawn, with such level of the skin will look more detailed.
