In part one I showed you how to create a highly detailf face and head structure. In this tutorial I will continue to sho you how to build and shade skin, and cloth. So we will continue from where we left off last time by creating the neck and upper torso of our girl. Use the template as you guide and make a selection of her upper torso. We will create the fore arm and hands a little later. Once you have your shape create a new layer and fill the selection with #f0dec4. Now add a 1px outer stroke in #ceb38b. This layer will go just above your “Hair back” group
Next we will create the pointer finger on the right hand using the same settings.
Now start a new group above the torso layer and call it “Dress”. Make a new layer within this group. Make a selection of the main section of the dress like below. Set the fill color to #e8a7a7 and add a 1px outer stroke in color #cf7878
Make a new layer just below the base dress layer and make a shape like below.
Set the layer fill to 0% and now we are going to add some blending options. First we are going to add a slight “Drop Shadow”. Set the shadow color to #e8a7a7 at 30% opacity, distance 2, and size 5. Next we are going to add a “Satin” in the same color and opacity. Set the angle to 19°, distance to 11, and size to 14. Finally set the satin contour to Cone. Lastly we need to add a 1px outer stroke in the same color.
Make a new layer above the dress base and add the dress tails to either side of the dress the same way you added the base dress.
Using the template as a guide make the first set of dress shading. To do this you need to us a bit of imagination. Look at the image below if you need some help. Set the color of the selection fill to #cf7878 and DO NOT BLUR the dress shadow.
Make a new layer under the satin layer we created earlier. Using the color of the shade add the last section of the right dress tail like below.
Makes a new layer above the base dress layer. Now we create the front section of the satin layer.
Then creat the satin layer like we did before.
Now we need to create the crushed velvet tounge. Use the template as a guide and add a gradient. Set the start color to #821111 and the edning color to #dc6a6a.
Since velvet is a soft fuzzy material light defuses a certain way causing the color to darken and blur. So make the shapes like below and fill them with #891818. Then add a gaussian blur of 2.5 radius.
Next we create the metal pins that hold the satin to the velvet. Follow the same steps as you did with the hair pin.
After we have the pins made we are going to start building the dress corsette. Make a shape like below.
Then add the same blending options as on the velvet tounge. Only set the gradient angle to 83°. Finally add an outer stroke at 1px in color #a61414.
Follow the same steps to create the rest of the laces.
Once all the laces are created make a selection of them all. Makes a new layer under all the lace layers and fill the selection with black. Set the layer fill to 0%. Then add a Drop Shadow in color #891919, at 30% opacity, angle to 120°. Finally set the distance to 1 and the size to 5. and hit OK.
Using the same settings as the lace, create the dress straps.
Now create the metal corsette brace using the same settings as the hairpin. Make sure to use the template as your guide.
After you have the metal brace created make the bra area. Use the same colors as the dress. Now we create the inner cloth of the corsette. Use the same blending options as the dress tounge.
4.
Finally add the bra shading. Just like you did the dress.
Congrats, you have finished the dress. Make a new layer above the dress group and create the left arm. Use the same color and blending as the face and torso.
Now we are going to create the bubble solution drip from the wand just like we did the bublble drops.
Next we will create the bubble solution container. Make a new group between the arm layer and dress group and call it “Solution”. Make a new layer and create the lid like below.
Now set the color overlay to #23acde and add a 1px outer stroke in #546193.
CTRL+Click the lid layer to make a selection. Make a new layer and fill the selection with #546193. Then add a 3.0 px radius gaussian blur. Then make a selection of the lid again and delete the excess.
Using the same color darken the tab of the lid.
Now we need to create the bottle. Make a shape like below and fill it with black in a new layer.
Next we are going to add a Custom gradient overlay. Set the starting color to #126686 at location 0%, then the mid color to #28c4ff at location 32%, and finally the last color to #0c5c92 at location 100%. Set the angle to -168°. Lastly add an outer 1px stroke in #546193 and hit OK.
Follow the same steps to create the label area but change the gradient color to white and light grays.
To finish the bottle we are going to add a bit spilling out the side. Use the template as a guide for this. Fill the selection with black and set the layer fill to 0%. Now add a satin blend in color #cf7878, angle set to 19°, distance to 11, size to 16, and set the contour to “Double Ring”.
Next create the last arm. make this arm layer above the hair layers but below the metal wand. Then add the skin shading. The easiest way to do this is look at your hand and see how the shading is effected by the light in your area.
For this part you will need to merge the right arm and the shading area. Once they are mrged makes a selection at the third finger at the metal wand. Copy that selection to a new layer and place it above the metal wand.
And then you are finished! Congrats. If you have any comments, questions, our you want to add what you created learning from this tutorial feel free to leave me a comment. Cheers!
